Hope this New Year is going well for you all thus far! I’m busy as ever, but not so busy that I let trends pass me by—including menswear for ladies. Although this particular look has its ebb and flow in interpretation, it never really goes out of style because it’s such a classic silhouette.
Right now, the power suit is having its moment in the paparazzi spotlight as many of Hollywood’s fashionistas are rocking their own ‘menswear’ style. Pop singer, Lorde wore a sophisticated, yet very feminine tux at last week’s Golden Globes, and Jennifer Aniston unleashed her ‘girl power’ in a marsala-colored power suit at the recent Critics Choice awards.
As performer Solange illustrated at her 2014 wedding, modern brides can wear any look they choose for their walk down the aisle. The right amount of lace, beading or bling can transcend the power suit into a romantic, yet urbane look for the hipster bride.
The great thing about menswear for ladies is that it can transfer over into any season or occasion. But, if you’re not sure if you can execute a total outfit, visit your sweetie’s closet for some of his items you can incorporate into your look without total commitment.
