Fashion Friday Greetings to All My Fellow Fashionistas!

Well, we have less than two weeks before Christmas and you still may have appearances to make at a couple of holiday parties between now and December 25th.  If you do, I’d like to suggest that you try something a little different than the ‘go-to’  LBD (Little Black Dress).  Don’t get excited, as I know that the LBD will NEVER go out of style—nor should it.  However, like the color black, red can make a dramatic, yet sophisticated look for ‘after-5’ wear.

As you may know, not all reds are created equal.  Depending on your skin tone, eye and hair color, the type of red you wear can make a big difference between ‘va-va-va-voom!’ and ‘what-was-I-thinking?!’  Generally, those with warm undertones look great in reds that are orange or yellow-based—similar to the color found in tomatos.  Whereas, those with cool undertones look better in reds that are blue-based like candy apple red.  Most importantly, since red is one of the primary colors of the holiday season, it’s a great option when wanting to coordinate  with all of the festive decor.

However, as I constantly try to remind you, don’t let rules keep you in a box.  At this time of year, it’s about enjoying yourself, and the wonder of the season—of course, there are no rules that say you can’t look gorgeous while doing so!

Fashionable Yuletides,
