Happy Tuesday!

It’s in the air!  Can you feel it?  It’s the holiday season, and each year it seems that we are never fully prepared for it’s arrival.  Don’t worry, if you need some ideas for your tablescape on the Day of Giving Thanks, these tips are sure to come in handy.

First, always remember rule #1, which is: THERE ARE NO RULES!  Let your creativity flow.   Whether it’s traditional or modern, classic or eclectic, your table’s décor can be a reflection of your personal style.

Additionally, you can also mix it up a bit.  For example, decorate your table with the traditional Thanksgiving items that includes fall foliage, pumpkins and cornucopias, but make sure they are all in one color (like white) to have a more monochromatic look, which can be very modern.  Or, if you live in parts of the country where the climate is warm, take your festive dinner to the outdoors and decorate a picnic table with your finest china and linens.

Of course, as always, relax!  I understand that you may have some invited guests that you want to impress, but decorating your holiday dinner table should be fun not fretful. So, if after your meticulous planning and delicious meal you realize that the knives and forks were placed opposite of where they were supposed to be, just tell yourself that you did that on purpose.

Happy Thanksgiving!
