It’s February, and this month is loaded with pop-cultural pastimes to fill your calendar. It kicked off with the Superbowl (what was that?!!), followed by the start of New York Fashion week (yay!!), and with Valentine’s Day not far behind (awww!!). Of course, what better way to follow up such an exciting month than to celebrate Hollywood’s biggest night on March 2nd.
Even though we all can’t be on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre on Oscar night, you can still host your own Academy Awards party to celebrate your favorite films or actors. Whether popcorn casual or high-fashion formal, there is no limit to what type of party you can host. One way to get your guests hyped for the event is to hand out homemade ballots before the party and have a prize for the one(s) who made the most correct predictions about the winners. Have a long driveway? Place a red carpet out front and have your guests wear their finest as you take pictures upon their arrival. They (and your neighbors) will get a kick out of that! Let’s not forget about the food. You can serve the standard movie fare like nachos, hot dogs and candy, or more sumptuous items like baby lamb chops, mini beef wellingtons and baby lobster quiches.
Celebrating Oscar night is a fun way to dress up and enjoy great company, great food and Hollywood extravagance. So, get your acceptance speech ready because the perfectly planned party will have your guests giving you an award for your hosting prowess!
