Decorating the Christmas tree is an event that many look forward to at this time of year. Of course, it would not be complete unless one glass ornament gets broken. Never fear, because I believe in the power of recycling—especially when you mix in a litle ‘DIY elbow grease.’
Have an old picture frame or framed mirror that you’re thinking about getting rid of? Why not turn it into an electic home accessory by adding broken ornament fragments on the frame? It’ll be even better if you can have a mosaic of various colors. Just go to your local arts and crafts retailer for all the necessary supplies to glue on the pieces. You can even make this a holiday project for older children while they are on Christmas break from school.
Remember, broken ornaments do not have to be thrown away. With a little creativity, you can breathe new life into old furnishings.
