Wedding ideas with a twist… Actually, a braid!

Braided wedding hairstyles have been really big for bohemian brides this past year.    But this trend is not just for the hippie chicks!  Braided details can add visual interest and beauty to any style of wedding.

Aside from the obvious choice of using braids in wedding updos, it’s a great texture to incorporate into elements like jewelry, bridesmaids’ dresses, or in ribbons on favor boxes and bouquets.  I love engagement and wedding rings with braided bands because to me, it’s symbolic of the bride and groom uniting to bring their families and their pasts into one future.

I’m also a fan of this trend because it’s versatile for any type of bride.  A rustic bride can use braided straw around her centerpieces and have a small braid in her messy bun hairstyle, while a glam bride can have a braided crystal sash on her dress and braided details on her metallic heels.  Since it’s not really a “theme”, adding hints of braids add small, interesting details without overpowering the overall look of the wedding.

Here are some of my fave ideas on how to use this  trend… Which is your fave?
