{Tiffany’s Tips} Reinvent Your Glassware

Happy Tuesday Folks!

With Mother’s Day right around the corner and Memorial Day not far behind, it’s safe to assume that many of you may be in for some serious entertaining this season.  Therefore, you definitely want to utilize ways to cut down on prep time while adding to your bottom line and impressing your guests. One way to do this is by repurposing your glassware.

Take a look at your wine glasses, brandy snifters and goblets, and even your punchbowls.  In addition to their traditional usage, these items can be used as something in which to serve your dessert, use as place-setting holders , or add flowers for your centerpiece decor, respectively.

So, before you head out to your local kitchenware or home/lifestyle retailer to prepare for your next celebration, take a look at what’s in your cupboard for some entertaining inspiration.

March of Dimes – The Continuous Fight Against Infant Mortality

Happy Fabulous Friday!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend.   Now that the bunny has come and gone, it’s time to look forward to celebrating mothers.  Therefore, I would like to highlight a cause that is very near and dear to me, personally—the fight against infant mortality.

Since its founding by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1938, MOD has tirelessly worked to help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies.

My husband and I were introduced to the March of Dimes organization during an extremely challenging season in our lives. In addition to our families and friends, MOD provided a wealth of support and understanding for which I will always be grateful. Each year, Team Chalk (which consists of myself, my husband, family members and friends) participate in the March for Babies marathon to support healthy babies and moms.

Even if you were fortunate to have never needed the services of MOD, you may be connected to someone who does.  So, as we celebrate the season of New Beginnings and Mother’s Day, I want to encourage you to consider supporting this worthy organization so that we can ensure a future of beautiful new beginnings for moms and dads-to-be.

{Wedding Wednesday} The Rainbow Connection

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

It’s no secret that today’s bride is not resigned to wearing only white for her trip down the aisle.   From ravishing red to breathtaking black, modern brides understand that the only rules that apply for the woman of the hour is that there are no rules.

For the ladies who may want to be even a little more bold in their wedding day selection, a multi-colored gown will definitely make a statement.  Springtime offers the chance for brides to relish in their love for patterns that range from psychedelic chic to angelic pastels.   Floral prints in various hues can make for a dramatic, yet romantic visage for a late-afternoon ceremony as well.  The bride can also plan for the theme colors of her decor to coordinate with the colors of her dress.

So, if you want to rock this look for your wedding, but feel a little apprehensive, just remember that Kermit once said that the rainbow connection was for lovers and dreamers — I definitely think you qualify.

{TCElebrations} Desserts In A Jar

Happy Friday Peeps!

The Easter holiday weekend is here!  If your dinner menu is set, but you need an idea for dessert, you can’t go wrong with desserts in a jar.  Cakes, pies and puddings in mason jars are both fun and convenient.   The jars double as serving utensils, and as to-go containers.

You can bake pies in the jars and set them out on a dessert bar with various flavors of whipped cream toppings and ice cream for your guests.  If you don’t want to serve cake or pie, try creating a decorative dessert using pudding or custard with fruit.  And, if you need an idea for shower or reception favors, your guests will definitely appreciate pre-made cakes or pies in jars wrapped with beautiful bows or flowers.

What better way to say ‘Happy Easter,’ ‘I Love You’ or ‘Thank You’ than with sweets for the sweet!
