{Tiffany’s Tips} Just ‘Can’ It!

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

All is calm on my side of Juno, but as 2015′s biggest storm thus far makes it’s way up the East Coast, I’m sure many of you are taking advantage of the much-needed downtime.  However, if you’re one that likes to stay busy, and can get cabin fever rather quickly, one way to pass the time is to embark upon a craft project.  With winter comes hearty eating and comfort food like chili and soups, so if you have some empty cans hanging out in your recycle bin, pull them out and get crafting.

That’s right, tin cans are great for repurposing into all kinds of decor—whether it’s a funky lamp, an eclectic front door or decoration for a rustic-themed wedding.  Of course, safety is always important during crafting projects, so make sure all edges have been smoothed before handling.  So, the next time you pull out a canned item from your pantry, you may get inspired to create more than just a meal!

{Trendy Tuesday} Menswear For The Ladies

Happy Tuesday!

Hope this New Year is going well for you all thus far!  I’m busy as ever, but not so busy that I let trends pass me by—including menswear for ladies.  Although this particular look has its ebb and flow in interpretation, it never really goes out of style because it’s such a classic silhouette.

The Row

Right now, the power suit is having its moment in the paparazzi spotlight as many of Hollywood’s fashionistas are rocking their own ’menswear’ style.   Pop singer, Lorde wore a sophisticated, yet very feminine tux at last week’s Golden Globes, and Jennifer Aniston unleashed her ‘girl power’ in a marsala-colored power suit at the recent Critics Choice awards.

As performer Solange illustrated at her 2014 wedding, modern brides can wear any look they choose for their walk down the aisle.  The right amount of lace, beading or bling can transcend the power suit into a romantic, yet urbane look for the hipster bride.

The great thing about menswear for ladies is that it can transfer over into any season or occasion.  But, if you’re not sure if you can execute a total outfit, visit your sweetie’s closet for some of his items you can incorporate into your look without total commitment.

{Tiffany’s Tips} Golden Globes 2015 Trends for Weddings and Proms

Happy Tuesday!

Did you stay up and watch the Golden Globes like I did?  This weekend’s telecast did not disappoint in offering an array of fashion statements on the red carpet and a preview of what me might see on the biggest night in Hollywood—Oscar night!  By now, I am sure that you have heard every critique from every fashion expert or expert wannabe in the blogosphere.

Although I did have some faves and some fouls, I was more interested in recognizing trends, and the Golden Globes red carpet did not disappoint.   Classic was the word for the night with the color red playing the lead role.  Worn by many actresses including Viola Davis, Allison Williams and Cathering Zeta Jones, the second ‘go-to’ color for evening was a mainstay on the carpet.  Along with red, other hues were a big hit among some of Hollywood’s ‘It Girls.’   Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller were dazzling in their white frocks.  Finally, what would a black-tie affair be without ‘tried and true’ black.  Jennifer Aniston,  Amal Clooney and (my top pick) Emma Stone continued to prove that wearing black for the evening will never go out of style.  Others trends I saw included pops of gray and shimmering nudes.

It won’t be long before we are headed into the spring and summer seasons, which means weddings and proms galore.  If you are bride-to-be or a young lady searching for the right look for prom, the red carpet during awards season can offer some great ideas that you can make your own.

{Tiffany’s Tips} Organize Your Living Space!

Happy Tuesday!

The beginning of the year is always a great time to get organized.  Whether it’s organizing your cubicle at work or your linen closets at home, getting things in order helps you to see what you need to keep, toss or give away.

The great thing about organization is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to accomplish a clean space.  In fact, you may have everything you need to get your personal space in tip-top shape for the New Year.  If not, then you can always purchase inexpensive dividers, bins, baskets and other accessories from your local discount retailer to help you convert chaos into order.

Sometimes disorder on the outside can by a symptom of what’s going on inside.  As you purpose to live better and accomplish your 2015 resolutions, resolve to have an organized life—both inside and out!

New Year, New Possibilities 2015!

Happy New Year!

It’s January 1, 2015!  This is the day when we look forward to the possibilities of what a brand new year can bring.  As someone who has been working hard on her entrepreneurial aspirations for several years, this is the time when I reflect on my accomplishments of the previous year, and excitingly look to the goals that I want to achieve in the new year.

However, pursuing my goals did not come without a price.  In fact, it was after experiencing an extremely difficult period in my life that I decided to use my talents as an event planner to help build the life that I truly wanted.  I am beyond grateful that I was able (with the help of my husband, family and friends) to allow my passion to flourish after a season of pain.

2014 was a challenging year as well, but it was also filled with a lot of triumphs.  However, at the end of 2014, I had to come to the realization that in order to reach the 2015 goals that I’ve set for myself, I could no longer ‘apologize’ for my gifts or the vision of my brand.  How did I apologize?—by settling or compromising my value in order to obtain a client(s).  Although I am truly grateful for all of the events I’ve designed over the years, and the wonderful people for whom the events were planned, I had to make a decision to OWN my true worth.  A few words of wisdom from a friend confirmed my discontent and helped me to finally embrace my ‘a-ha moment.’  Therefore,  I am no longer concerned about the number of clients on my itinerary because I know that by embracing my worth, I will automatically attract those clients who appreciate the TCE brand and all that comes with it.

Many of you may have come to this same conclusion, or are coming into the new year facing some major challenges.  I want to encourage you to not let the circumstances deter you from seeing what you aspire to be in 2015.  Whether it’s embarking upon an entrepreneurial goal, living a healthier lifestyle or pursuing higher education after raising a family, your goals are worthy of achievement.  It is up to you to believe that YOU are worthy of achieving them.

Just think, you’ve been given a brand new set of 12 months that you’ve never seen before—that’s 365 days worth of new possibilities!

Best,
